Airthings Now Lets You Track Live Pollen Levels in Any Location
With allergy season underway, Airthings has launched a new feature that displays local pollen levels. The feature, called My Pollen Levels, can be accessed via the official Airthings app.
My Pollen Levels Displays Real Time Pollen Data
The new feature by Airthing displays live pollen data in your surroundings or any other location for that matter. Using this data, Airthings optimizes the indoor air quality for users.
In a press release on the Airthings Newsroom, the company states that My Pollen Levels "is powered by BreezoMeter, a provider of environmental intelligence." Using big data and "innovative pollen models," BreezoMeter provides accurate pollen levels to users in real time.
The Chief Scientist at BreezoMeter, Dr. Gabriela Adler said:
By integrating BreezoMeter’s data into their mobile app, Airthings enables users with actionable pollen information that can be used for better indoor air decision-making and better control of allergy symptoms.
Airthings also plans to add more features to their app in the future. In addition, My Pollen Levels is available to all existing and new users of Airthings smart home products.
Airthings Believes Allergy Control Begins at Home
The company acknowledged that while ventilation is important in any indoor environment, real-time pollen data will help users decide when it's better to keep their windows shut.

In fact, Chief Adviser of the Norwegian Asthma and Allergy Association (NAAF), Kai Gustavsen said:
Air quality sensors give you insight into your air quality and help you understand how small changes impact your health. Having current pollen data is a great addition to ensure the air in your home is as healthy as can be.
Essentially, Airthings feels that smart-air purifiers are key to combating these seasonal allergies.
More Than 50 Million People Suffer Seasonal Allergies In the US
In order to highlight the need for My Pollen Levels, Airthings also laid out some statistics in its press release.
One of them being that according to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), "in the US alone, more than 50 million people suffer from seasonal allergies."
With such a huge amount of people suffering from seasonal allergies, Airthings claims that its new features will have a positive impact on the lives of these people.
During this ongoing pandemic, a lot of people have to spend most of their time indoors. Keeping this in mind, a feature such as My Pollen Levels is definitely a welcome move.
