April's PS5 Firmware Update Is Now Available to Download

PS5 owners should now all be able to access, download, and install the latest firmware update for Sony's flagship console.

If you don't have auto-update enabled, then we suggest you fire the PlayStation 5 up with immediate effect, and get the latest firmware update downloaded and installed. The upgrade comes with several new features that will improve your PS5 experience.

How to Update Your PS5 Firmware

If you don't have auto-updates enabled, then you will have to update your console's firmware manually. Thankfully, the process is simple.

Fire your PS5 up and head to Settings in the top right-hand corner, next to your avatar. From here go to System, then select System Software and then Console Information. Here, you can check the firmware version your console is running.

If it isn't the latest update, then you'll need to download it. So, still in Settings, you update the software by going to System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings > Update System Software. Then select Update Using Internet and leave the rest to your trusty PS5.
