Horizon Zero Dawn Is Now Available for Free on PS4 and PS5
As promised, Sony has updated its Play At Home initiative, actioning the latest freebies available to all PS4 and PS5 owners.
Get Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition, Free
Sony's Play At Home has reached the second stage in its Spring drop. We've already had a selection of great PlayStation and PSVR games, and now the PlayStation creator has added Horizon Zero Dawn to the list.
It isn't just the standard version, either. Sony is giving away Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition. This means you get the Frozen Wilds expansion pack, too, which adds even more value to this already super-sweet deal.
How Do You Get Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition?
Grabbing your copy of the game couldn't be easier. Simply head to the Play At Home tab on the PS Store, via your console or the PS App, and find Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition on the list.
All you need to do now is select the game, download it, and install it on your device. Note that you don't need any special subscriptions to PlayStation Plus or anything, you just need a PlayStation Network account set up and active, so you can access the store.
And that is it, that is all you need to do!
Do We Get Anything Else in the Latest Play At Home Drop?
Nothing else new. However, you can still get a special extended subscription to either Funimation or Wakanim, depending on your region. A PlayStation.com blog post confirming the late-April Play At Home drop, says:
... we’re also offering an extended trial of Funimation (or Wakanim, depending on region), a joint venture of Sony Pictures Entertainment and Aniplex of Japan. The anime-focused subscription service includes shows such as My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Attack on Titan, and Fruits Basket.
The extended subscriptions are only available for a limited time, so act fast if you want to overdose on anime.
What Is Sony's Play At Home Initiative?
The Play At Home initiative is Sony's way of saying thank you to its fans and giving something back to the gaming community at a time that has been difficult for everyone.
It actually launched in 2020, but made a return in 2021, which is why we've got a raft of cool free content to enjoy.
The initiative isn't over, either. Sony says:
Thank you again to everyone who has taken the time to check out the Play at Home content drops this Spring. There is more to come, so please stay tuned and check out the Play at Home page.
What else is coming? We don't know. Like Sony says, keep your eyes peeled.
The Play At Home Initiative Has Been a Success
While you are always going to get a bunch of gamers who simply aren't happy with the free titles they haven't had to pay for, this is a fantastic initiative by Sony and one which we should commend it for.
With the PlayStation ecosystem going through a raft of changes of late, this has been an extremely positive move for the console giant. We can't wait to see what they'll be giving us next!
